I stubbornly refused to reveal these rankings for many years, but hey, here we are. I have introduced a notable 'upgrade' to this year's edition that many of you will be mildly excited about, and that is, the disclosure of every film's ranking. The top part of the list continues to be set in concrete, with no movement until Battleship Potemkin and Taxi Driver swap the 14th and 15th positions. Twelve films appear for the first time, whilst the other thirteen are re-entries. This year's edition encompasses a modest 25 changes to the list (six down from last year). I just do the numbers and don't control what pops out, but It's hard to dispute that any of these fine films do not belong here. Toni Erdmann, Under the Skin, Boyhood, The Master and The Act of Killing, in particular, are all now comfortably residing within the top 500. Consequently, a handful of highly-acclaimed films from the 2010s have broken into the 1,000 in a very big way.
